A study published in the British Journal of Medicine tracked 1,000 45- to 59-year-old Welsh men for ten years. The researchers found that men who experienced frequent orgasms had half the coronary heart disease mortality risk as their less orgasmic counterparts. And a longitudinal study of 1,500 Americans found that for middle-aged married women, frequency of orgasm was moderately protective against mortality risk as well. The lesson: An undistracted bedroom can make a difference.

Grant Headley is a Portland-based physical therapist focusing on men’s pelvic pain and urinary and sexual dysfunction. He uses focused shockwave to improve blood flow and break up scar tissue in pelvic and erectile tissues and yoga-based therapy to teach the patient how to attune to and use their pelvis in their daily life. His own suffering and overcoming chronic pelvic pain, which stemmed from his bike racing career, inspires him to help men overcome their own pelvic dysfunction. His training has been through Herman & Wallace Institute and Nari Clemmons.
